General Functions
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance, this position assists in matters related to the Legal and Compliance Department. This position provides research support and assists in legal, risk and compliance monitoring and activities including risk and compliance-related training. Handles confidential information professionally and consistently with legal and ethical policies.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

  • Responsible for proofreading and ensuring formatting consistency and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents, including legal filings and Board-related materials.
  • Transcribes minutes and maintains accurate records of meetings.
  • Drafts documents for review and revision, including corporate biennial reports, court filings, corporate policy and procedures, and resolutions.
  • Prepares required federal and state notices and calendars deadlines.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries related to legal, risk and compliance issues.
  • Assists with creating and delivering legal, risk and compliance-related training.
  • Assists with annual compliance risk assessments and monitoring.
  • Assists with the risk management program, including reviews documents for conformity with requirements, and assists with claims
  • Operates with the highest level of confidentiality in matters related to legal and compliance issues and actions.
  • Performs basic research (both legal and non-legal).
  • Assists in creating and maintaining electronic filing systems.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in business or related field preferred; experience can be substituted on a year for year basis.
  • Experience working in a legal or compliance setting preferred.
  • Four years of experience supporting a corporate office in an administrative or functionally related capacity.
