Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in various settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine.
  • Perform vital signs checks, medical history documentation, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment to promote a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Support the healthcare team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.
  • Exhibit knowledge of physiology to assist in understanding patient conditions and treatment options.

Skills

  • Knowledge of safety factors and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of communication skills, both oral and written, to interact with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and treatment.
  • Skill in providing and maintaining accurate documentation in the patient’s health record.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
  • Skill in learning the computer system, applying the knowledge to accurately schedule patient appointments and tests.
  • Skill in setting up, maintaining, and interpreting data from a wide variety of medical equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Skill in the application of basic first aid.
  • Skill in injections, vital signs, and phlebotomy.
  • Skill in setting up medical devices.

Education | Experience

A minimum of 2 years of Certified Medical Assistant Experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
