The University of Alaska - Anchorage is seeking a collaborative and visionary Dean for its College of Health. The Dean, who will report to the Provost, will serve as the College's executive officer, providing strategic leadership and fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. The Dean will provide visionary, collaborative, and inclusive leadership to advance its mission of excellence in teaching, research, service, and community engagement. The Dean will oversee academic program development and review, support faculty and staff success, foster a culture of innovation and belonging, and build strong connections with stakeholders across the university and beyond. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of health education and to contribute to a dynamic and growing College within a supportive institutional environment. The position is available to start as early as January 2026, with a start date negotiable but no later than August 1, 2026. The Dean reports to the Provost.

Strong communication, fiscal stewardship, and strategic planning skills will be essential, along with the ability to engage stakeholders and build connections with community and industry partners. A demonstrated commitment to accreditation, program quality, and academic excellence will enable the candidate to advance the College of Health and support its vital role within the institution and beyond.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have an earned terminal degree or equivalent qualifications as defined in the College of Health Faculty Evaluation Guidelines, which can be found https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SoGNFPoaEllH7Z1odpbJY5xIO_fbHiTj/view?usp=drive_link, along with at least three years of post‑secondary administration experience and at least five years of faculty/teaching experience in a post‑secondary setting - or - at least five years of significant administrative or managerial experience in a related industry with demonstrated connections to or collaborations with post‑secondary education. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective academic leadership, personnel and fiscal management, collaborative decision‑making, and a strong commitment to student success and professional discretion.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, 12-month, executive management, exempt position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. Salary is commensurate with experience.
