General Functions:

The Recovery Services (RS) Peer Manager is an integral part of the leadership team within the Recovery Services Department and will provide high level oversight, coaching, and  position will be responsible for and overseeing Peer Supervisor and Peer Tribal Coordinators. The Peer Manager will work closely Sr. Program Manager in creating and maintaining partnerships within the community and growing the RS peer support team. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision, leadership, and direction to direct reports focusing on CITC Core Values
  • Develop regular in-service trainings to promote ongoing knowledge of what peer support is and the different levels of peer support to RS staff.
  • Assure educational outreaches to community partners on what it means to be peer support specialist and how to integrate into continuum of care within places such as but not limited to: behavioral health organizations, educational institutions, justice institutions, and hospitals.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with Tribal Partners to integrate cultural peer support specialists throughout surrounding and rural communities.
  • Actively engage and collaborate in state coalitions that promote peer support specialists and trainings. 
  • Work closely with clinical management team to provide accurate progress notes and treatment planning interventions to active participants within RS.
  • Work closely with management team in gathering and collecting necessary data for state, federal, and board reports.  
  • Work with management team in fulfilling RS board objectives surrounding Peer Support integration across CITC. 
  • Work in collaboration with CITC Tribal Liaison and Communications Team to promote peer support through marketing strategies, fundraising, and tribal partnerships.
  • Build relationships and engage in education boards to promote and update peer support trainings, code of ethics, and certifications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Understand and train Peer Supervisor in social media platforms, confidentiality, and assure peer support schedule is adhered too, including location, and any needed services are maintained on a peer support calendar.
  • Monitor all peer support and alumni notes, plans, and objectives for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work with Peer Supervisor to assure that all peer support and alumni groups are conducted and followed as outline in the group schedule. 
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports by providing necessary data and information as scheduled and/or when required.
  • Participate in training in areas related to improvement of service delivery.
  • Participate in staff development trainings and meet attendance requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to regulations and procedures.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License and be insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check approved NPI status with state approval as a QAP (Qualified addictions professional.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recovery Coach Certification. 
  • CDC II Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
