Position Summary:
Do you enjoy building relationships and providing educational programming as part of a dynamic team? The University of Alaska Fairbanks-Cooperative Extension Service Anchorage Outreach Center is seeking a person with the ability to provide program and outreach support for the Anchorage community. This person must work well with the public and have excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills since the position requires a high degree of collaboration. This position will work as part of a team to assess needs in the Anchorage community and provide coordination and logistical support for educational outreach in a variety of settings. As part of the urban extension team, opportunities to create and develop new community partners, projects, and programming will be a predominant focus of this position. In addition, this position will act as the primary point of contact for outreach opportunities for the Anchorage Outreach Center and will be an integral part of the team. The successful candidate must possess a high level of accountability and discretion as this person will be working independently at times. Knowledge of community/continuing education practices preferred.
Must work well with the public and have excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills since the position involves interpersonal public relations. Knowledge of office systems protocol and procedures in order to coordinate logistics for educational outreach. Experience facilitating meetings and delivering presentations to groups both in-person and virtually.
Computer experience including spreadsheets, word processing, peripheral equipment and internet/email knowledge, operation of various types of office equipment and digital technology. Must possess a high level of accountability and discretion.
Ability to adapt to ever changing demands and work environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite products, and virtual meeting & presentation tools such as Zoom. Experience working in a university setting preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience facilitating and coordinating informal education experiences to a community of people.
High degree of organizational skills and ability to collaborate with partner organizations.
Excitement to provide resources to the public in a way that will make an impact.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and one-year experience (i.e. training or human resource development), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Alaska Driver's license or ability to obtain one.
Position requires the incumbent to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Position Details:
This position is located in Anchorage Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
