Enrollment Clerk


This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Region, Office of the Deputy Regional Director-Native Services, Branch of Tribal Governments, in Juneau, Alaska.

Duties

  • Processes Certificate Degree of Indian Blood from receipt to completion.
  • Review vital records and ensures protection from damage or destruction.
  • Files and maintains enrollment program records.
  • Creates memorandums, letters, reports and various forms and documents pertaining to enrollment.
  • Ensures incoming mail is properly received is routed.

GS-04: I have at least one (1) year of general experience in basic computer operations for access, understanding, and use. Clerical, office, or other work that indicates skills needed to perform the duties to operate printer for copying and scanning tasks; store, organize, and maintain multiple formats (including automated system of records) of data, OR 2 years of successfully completed education above the high school level.
 

GS-05: I have at least one (1) year of specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-04 in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). Specialized experience with knowledge of the enrollment program which include enrollment procedures, regulations regarding official issuance of CDIB sufficient to perform a wide variety of enrollment tasks. Experience typing a variety of correspondence, reports, statistical charts; and experience working with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), OR 4 years of successful completion of a full course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
