General Functions: 

The Fab Lab Inventory Specialist will be responsible for all inventory tasks within the Fab Lab and Fab Lab programs. The Inventory Specialist will manage the inventory control system, maintain product data, inventory tracking, ordering, receiving, shipping, and organizing inventory. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with partner schools and CITC staff to identify and order equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for Fab Lab programs. 
  • Arrange for the transportation of equipment and large quantities of products.
  • Safely load and unload deliveries.
  • Complete online orders for Fab Lab supplies and keep track of receipts & invoices, according to CITC policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile gift cards used for Fab Lab purchasing according to CITC accounting guidelines.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and information as needed.
  • Maintain operations by following CITC and partner schools’ policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compiling orders for Fab Fest, school break camps, and general program supplies.
  • Participate in scheduled CITC meetings, committee meetings, and community meetings as requested.
  • Participate in all required training and project partnership planning meetings.   
  • Maintain confidentiality according to CITC regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.


Job Specifications:

  • Ability to utilize various communication styles to maintain contact with management, partner schools, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and summarize data in spreadsheet, database, and word processing formats.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, kneel or crouch.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with data management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with the ability to handle numerous priorities at the same time effectively. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


Minimum Core Competencies: CITC Values, Respectful Leadership, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving/Critical Thinking, Communication Skills.  


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in ordering various supplies, equipment, or materials, maintaining inventory records, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment.
  • Continued employment status will be contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal criminal background check report in compliance with the 1990 Indian Child Protection Act.
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50lbs regularly. 
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver’s license for at least three years.
