SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Health Services Care Practice Manager (PM) is responsible for and supervises the day-to-day operational activities of the support staff for the health services department. The position provides managerial leadership and an environment that fosters cost-effective, high-quality care. The PM works to ensure all financial, clinical, quality, and satisfaction goals are achieved.

 

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, coach, and counsel personnel as required to ensure efficient and effective work.
  • Manages and coordinates all support staff schedules.
  • Monitors for defined operational productivity metrics and reports to COO.
  • Analyzes processes to determine trends and gaps that lead to process improvement and appropriate resource utilization.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, implementing and training on all new policies and procedures regarding all clinic operations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the ordering and budgeting of clinical supplies.
  • Complete routine performance reviews and performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Responsible for creating an environment that facilitates and increases collaboration among all CRNA service lines.
  • Collaborate with COO and Finance to develop and propose yearly budgets for Board approval.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all medical services meet budget expectations.
  • Participate in healthcare agency associations, workgroups, and committees to advocate for CRNA and keep CRNA at the forefront of developments in primary care.
  • Continually review medical services systems, processes, procedures, and policies to promote innovation, integration, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with quality manager to patient complaints in a timely manner and follows CRNA policy for resolution and documentation of complaint.
  • Lead projects in Health Service and perform other duties at the discretion of the COO.

 

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships throughout CRNA and with outside contacts
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare services operations and administration
  • Develop a familiarity with HRSA and federally funded agencies
  • Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native populations
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills with sensitivity to lifestyles of targeted participants
  • Proficient in computer application systems
  • Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA and other regulations
  • Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                       

  • A combination of experience, education, and training may substitute for degree requirements
  • Ten (10) years of experience in healthcare
  • Five (5) years of experience in
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare practice management
  • Federally Qualified Health Center experience
  • Tribal Health Organization experience
  • Experience in management of multi-clinic comprehensive medical services organization
  • Master of Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 25 lbs. The majority of work is performed in an office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. CRNA is a smoke free and tobacco free campus. May require local travel between compact services of CRNA which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Works in an environment where protection of client confidentiality is essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided when and where needed.

 

SPECIFICATIONS

Supervision Received:

Work will be monitored through meetings, reports, and regular communication with the immediate supervisor. General guidelines for operations are based on program requirements, conditions of grant award(s), and the general policies and procedures of CRNA. 

 

Supervision Exercised:

Position will exercise supervision of assigned staff and complete required documentation, including performance evaluations, training, and general oversight through direct reports.

 

Contacts:

Contacts include and not limited to volunteers, organizational staff, clients, and outside agencies.

  • CRNA is a no tolerance workplace. All employees must pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screening to be eligible for and maintain employment.
  • CRNA has several positions that require a criminal background check for the safety of our clients. All employment offers in the “covered” classification are conditional until CRNA has received a Federal criminal background check verifying eligibility to work in these programs.
  • First Aid/CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire for required positions.
  • As applicable by position and company policy, must meet standards for fitness for duty, immunizations, credentialing and privileging.
