SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse will be clinically competent while delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. RNs will effectively interact with patients, significant others and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.
JOB DUTIES
- Provide advanced professional nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's health needs.
- Provide direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching and preparing for continuing care.
- Coordinate and supervise patient care provided by support medical personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality in regards to all client, staff, and program matters.
- Practice patient teaching/training for staff, patients, and families.
- Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients while utilizing age-specific and universal precaution practices at all times.
- Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the State of Alaska Board of Nursing, ANA, and AAACN standards of practice while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
- Apply skill and knowledge grained at assigned training sessions.
- Participate and support community activities sponsored and/or supported by CRNA.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A.D.N. or B.S.N. from accredited College of Nursing, accompanied by current State of Alaska Nursing license and BLS certification, and
- 0-1 years of nursing experience.
- Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS (or Pediatric training equivalent) certification within 6 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S.N. from accredited College of Nursing, accompanied by current State of Alaska Nursing license and BLS certification, and
- Two (2) years of nursing experience with an emphasis on Ambulatory care, Medical, Surgical, or Emergency care.
WORKING CONDITIONS

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 25 lbs. The majority of work is performed in a clinical office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. CRNA is a smoke free and tobacco free campus. May require local travel between compact services of CRNA which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Works in an environment where protection of client confidentiality is essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided when and where needed.
SPECIFICATIONS
Supervision Received:
Work will be monitored through meetings, reports, and regular communication with the immediate supervisor. General guidelines for operations are based on program requirements, conditions of grant award(s), and the general policies and procedures of CRNA.
Supervision Exercised:
Position will not exercise supervision.
Contacts:
Contacts include and not limited to volunteers, organizational staff, clients, and outside agencies.
CONDITIONS OF HIRE

- CRNA is a no tolerance workplace. All employees must pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screening to be eligible for and maintain employment.
- CRNA has several positions that require a criminal background check for the safety of our clients. All employment offers in the “covered” classification are conditional until CRNA has received a Federal criminal background check verifying eligibility to work in these programs.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire for required positions.
- Annual TB screens for required positions.
