Terminal Operator Trainee - Port of Anchorage

Terminal Operator Trainee is responsible for assisting the Terminal team to ensure the safe, compliant and efficient performance of terminal operations and maintenance activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines. Terminal Operator Trainee is expected to be proficient in handling fuel & chemicals associated with the Terminal and understand the safety, spill response, facility security, quality assurance and operational day-to-day duties associated on site. Terminal Operator Trainee will be expected to work a shift type schedule which includes rotating day and night shifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The employee must have the ability to climb tanks up to 50 feet utilizing stairs, ladders and platforms and perform their job at those heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment consists of a variety of settings including a busy office/control room, maintenance shop, truck rack, tank farm, and dock facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often be exposed to outside weather conditions throughout all seasons.
