JOB TITLE: Transport Coordinator

WORK HOURS: 7.5 hours per day
Job Summary: Will provide patient, client and Elder transport services to beneficiaries of the Aleutian and Pribilof Region, to include patient health appointments, airport transfers, transporting to lodging or to hospitals, to APIA events or Elder events within the Anchorage service area. Serve as a liaison between patients, clients and Elders and Anchorage area service providers to ensure access to services available. Provide support for all APIA Health Department vehicles within the fleet of vehicles between Anchorage and the region. Ensure Health Department vehicles are cleared, moved, and have proper documents inside vehicles. Support the purchase of needed items for vehicles and facilitate regular maintenance on vehicles. Ensure vehicles are in ready to drive mode with permits, insurance cards and safety items inside the vehicles.
Qualifications: High school graduate or GED, and work in related field. Valid and current driver’s license. Two (2) years experience in customer service or patient advocacy. Experience in vehicle maintenance and or knowledge of vehicle parts. Willing to take training for Basic Life Support (BLS) training and CPR training. Native preference will be given to qualified candidate under P.L. 93-638, as amended.
