Position Summary:
The UAF Kuskokwim Campus (KuC) in Bethel, Alaska is searching for a new Health Career Advisor to join the student services team. We are looking for an individual who will be passionate about the job, has exemplary organizational skills and a team player. The Student Services department is central to the campus and to the community of Bethel. Duties:

As our Health Careers Advisor you will join a compassionate and knowledgeable student services team at the Kuskokwim Campus (KuC) in which you will be monitoring academic progress for each student. You will need to have good decision-making and problem solving skills. You will establish and maintain genuine open relationships with your advisees, show interest and be involved in their academic progress, share advice and knowledge, as well as being a good listener.

To thrive in this role, you must have experience in guiding and helping students to meet their educational goals and being able to help enhance their college experience. You must stay up to date with the University policies in order to effectively communicate any new changes to students whom you advise. You must be willing to share knowledge and give advice and monitor academic progress. You will stay in consistent communication with students throughout the academic year to guide them in the different college processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field and two years relevant experience in nursing, education, or similar required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This is a full-time, 10.5 month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary andhttps://alaska.edu/jobs/benefits.php. New hires will be placed on thehttps://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_staff_salary_grid.pdf, Grade 78, based on education and experience.

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
