Cross-Cultural Competence Program
The Cross-Cultural Competence (C3) Educator Program supports educators in building resilient cultural identities while reflecting on the lens through which they view their students and communities, their relationship-building, and their teaching practices. C3 guides participants through a cultural induction program that includes a cultural immersion experience, supportive gatherings during the school year, a graduate-level university course, and community mentorship. Educators who come through C3 gain the tools, support, and confidence to sustainably build welcoming school spaces that reflect and honor the cultures of their communities.
Position Summary
The C3 Program Manager will manage the Alaska Humanities Alaska Humanities Forum’s portion of the Ilisautri (Teacher) Project with the Northwest Arctic Borough School District (NWABSD), with specific emphasis on cultivating and supporting cohorts of educators and community partners. The Manager will also support the Bristol Bay Teaching and Learning collaborative working with the Bristol Bay Foundation, and will be an integral part of envisioning the development of new education and cross-cultural programs at the Alaska Humanities Forum. The right candidate will have a passion for, and proven experience in, cross-cultural work, program development, collaborative partnerships, and working with rural communities in Alaska. This position will report to the Director of C3 Programs.

The C3 Program Manager role is an exempt, full-time position based at Alaska Humanities Alaska Humanities Forum offices in Anchorage with a regular weekday work schedule of 40 hours per week. This position will involve some weekends & evenings. Benefits include medical, dental, disability, ten paid holidays per year, nine earned paid time off hours each pay period, paid family leave, and a 403(b)-retirement plan. The annual salary for this position will be $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
