Purpose:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of payroll for Teya Development and subsidiaries, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate with data entry payroll processing using multiple timekeeping systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timesheets are submitted and approved for multi-state payrolls.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Respond to payroll related inquiries and resolve employee concerns.
  • Review payroll registers, such as hours, retro pay, PTO payouts, wage increases etc.
  • Assist with additional payroll functions as needed, such as journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Other assigned duties or responsibilities

  • High school diploma or GED required.  Some college preferred.  Experience may substitute for education.
  • Intermediate skills required using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience with UKG, ADP, and Deltek Costpoint or a similar payroll system preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll preferred.
  • Experience with Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act payrolls preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal direct supervision.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required, sometimes for extended periods, to sit. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.  May use fax machines or filing cabinets if working in a Teya office. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move small or large objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
