Assist the Warehouse Foreman in the operations of all North Pacific Fuel warehouses that are leased to customers in Dutch Harbor. These operations include receiving packing materials and gear into the warehouses for the customers, organizing and tracking the stored goods and delivery of these items to the customers when they require them. The schedule for this position consists of a 40-hour work week, and seasonal overtime will be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  1. Perform all operations of the North Pacific Fuel warehouse spaces leased to customers.
  2. Receive customer’s supplies and equipment from their vessels and various freight companies, document all receipts, and ensure their safe and secure storage.
  3. Deliver customer’s stored items to vessels when requested while providing the highest level of customer service.
  4. Ship customer’s items out as requested. 
  5. Complete daily paperwork associated with the shipping, receiving, and handling of all customers’ items and providing it to the office for billing.
  6. Keep a daily log of all activity in the warehouse.
  7. Assist Warehouse Foreman in measuring spaces for monthly rent billing and conveying them to the Administrative Manager.
  8. Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles, including forklifts, flatbed trucks, hydraulic lift, electric pallet jack and skid steer loader.
  9. Responsible for maintenance and condition of warehouses and equipment. Will be on call during busy seasons and must be able to respond professionally to customers’ requests in a timely manner at all hours of the day.
  10. Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping storage areas clean and organized to company standards.
  11. Assist with record keeping and inventory reports to customers.
  12. Must be self-driven, able to follow instructions, prioritize and organize.
  13. Participate as a member of the North Pacific Fuel Hazardous Response Team.
  14. Participate in all required training and drills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2 years warehouse experience.
  3. Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
  4. Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake, Tank and Haz Mat Endorsements with current DOT Medical Card.
  5. Have or be willing to obtain a Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC®).
  6. Experience driving and working in snow and icy road conditions preferred.
  7. Ability to operate a forklift and front loader.
  8. Knowledge of proper lifting technique.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers, exhibiting great customer service skills.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The work environment is in a busy warehouse and marine terminal setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
