Position Summary:
Kenai Peninsula College is actively seeking a Fiscal Technician to join our Administrative Services team. We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced yet fun environment. The successful candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, advanced oral and written communication skills, and the drive to improve processes and create efficiencies. This benefited full time position handles KPC's accounts payable, travel, ProCard reconciliations, and annual physical inventory. This position is essential to the day to day business operations of the College. Duties:
20Procard Reconciliation: *Provide expert guidance to all KPC procard holders. Interpret purchasing rules and regulations to review all purchases for proper accounting codes and to apply UA and KPC procurement policies and procedures. *Manage JP Morgan portal to ensure accurate data has been entered by cardholders. *Train new card holders on KPC purchasing procedures. Enforce cardholder reporting deadlines.Essential 30Travel: *Provide expert training and guidance to KPC administration, staff and faculty in all aspects of the Concur travel system. *Analyze travel expense reimbursements. Verify travel expenses and proper documentation is submitted. Interpret and ensure University and KPC fiscal policies, rules and regulations are followed. Communicate with departments and/or travelers when additional information/documentation is needed. *Project costs as requested for group travel and travel funded by restricted funds such as grants and foundation funding.Essential 40Accounts Payable: *Enforce compliance with UA, UAA and KPC fiscal and purchasing policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. *Communicate and resolve issues with vendors in regards to payments, accounts analysis, and billing. *Research and review encumbrances against purchase documents, vendor updates and duplications, IRS form W-9s for accuracy, ACH setup information from vendors to ensure fraudulent account information is not entered. *Review open PO's to ensure adequate funding and timely closure, run open encumbrance report regularly to ensure full finalization of PO's, travel documents and misc. other encumbrance activity. *Coordinate with KPC departments to research and analyze Banner finance entries, correct journal vouchers as needed, verify validity of encumbrances.Essential 5Misc: *Manage KRC vehicle reservation and check out system. Track driving records for all KRC employees that drive KPC vehicles ensuring driving records meet UA regulations. *Maintain incoming check log. *Apply for annual Kenai Peninsula Borough tax exempt cards. Maintain check out/in log for employee use of tax-exempt cards.Essential 5Property: *Oversee asset inventory of all KPC property items over $5,000 including additions, deletions, transfers and yearly physical inventory. *Coordinate disposal and sale of surplus items. *Maintain log of off campus use of property.Essential
This position will be located at the Kenai River Campus situated on 309 acres along the banks of the beautiful Kenai River, the ancestral homelands of the Dena'ina Athabascan, Ahtna Athabascan, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq and Eyak peoples. The area is known for its wildlife splendor, mountain viewscapes, world-class fishing and hunting, hiking, canoe trails and winter outdoor adventure. Anchorage, Alaska's largest city is just a 2.5-hour drive or 20-minute flight away.

KPC offers two-year Associates of Arts and Associates of Applied Science degrees, as well as courses leading to occupational certifications and UAA baccalaureate degrees, such as Psychology, Art and Anthropology. The college has 27 full-time faculty, 65+ staff, 15+ student employees, and 100+ part-time faculty each semester. KPC enrolls more than 2,000 students/semester.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of automated accounting systems, and electronic spreadsheets.
In depth knowledge of accounting system functions or procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret UA/UAA/KPC travel, accounts payable and purchasing policies, rules and regulations.
Best practices for accounts payable.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and teamwork skills while maintaining high ethical standards.
Strong analytical skills; research and database skills.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines under stressful situations.
Ability to work under minimal, intermittent supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word and Outlook and/or Gmail.

Preferred Experience & Education:
Two years of relevant experience.
Experience with Banner and Concur software programs.

Required Experience & Education:
One year of college coursework in Accounting or related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated experience using technology and software.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://alaska.edu/jobs/benefits.php. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/files/fy24_staff_salary_grid.pdf, Grade 77, which starts at $22.64 per hour based on education and experience.
