Position Summary:
Are you a dynamic, multi-talented professional who possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently? The University of Alaska Land Management Office (UALM) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Business Manager is critical to the success of our department supporting the Director and high-performing land managers along with multi-faceted projects and building management. The work you do will support UALM's primary role in supporting University of Alaska's educational mission and prudently manage land dedicated for educational purposes. Through our work, the UA Scholars Program supports the education advancements of thousands of Alaskan students.
Duties:
1-60Project Management. Oversee office project management, including marketing and social media to help boost sales and leases of UA lands (website), the business portal (Land Management database), workflow management (monday.com), and UA Land's modernization project.Essential 25Business Manager/Technical Support. Prepare quarterly and annual documents for the Director's report to the BOR and Executive Management. Help plan, create, and prepare documents for distribution at public workshops and fairs, conferences, government agencies, and private businesses. Attend public meetings, fairs, conferences, and other outreach events as a UALM representative. Create reports from those events and make digital and physical marketing materials for wide dissemination on resource development and real estate sales and leases. Payment processing including deposits, cash receipts, and revenue tracking.Essential 3-15Administrative: Provide administrative support to LM staff and other System Office Executives located at the Bragaw Office Building. Support includes travel and procurement duties, front desk responsibilities including interacting with the public and answering main phone lines; event and meeting coordination; HR recruitment; staff training sessions; and problem solving with computer software and databases. Assist in leading student hires.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Working knowledge of computer programs and ability to apply that knowledge for marketing, social media, and administrative support.
• Demonstrated time and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to interpret and synthesize information and create comprehensive reports and presentations.
• Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
Required Experience & Education:
• Two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Salary Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a https://alaska.edu/jobs/benefits.php.
