The Office of Admissions is hiring an Admissions Clerk! This position is the primary point of contact for students, the public, and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships.




1Customer service: This position will serve as a primary point of contact for students, the public, and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships. Serve with an enthusiastic, courteous, and professional manner. Help students with a wide variety of Admissions and University related questions. Receive and accurately process or re-route Admissions concerns and requests. Provide guidance and assistance for admissions questions — ranging from recruitment, application processing to communication. Answer questions and direct students to appropriate staff/departments. Reduce student-run around through point of contact decision making authority and assisting with general inquiries. Assist with other departmental communication. Telephone/In-person customer service: This position serves as a primary point of contact for a high volume of phone calls and walk-ins each day. Determine the most appropriate course of action based on the client's needs. This position requires a broad knowledge of UAF, with more in-depth knowledge of Admissions recruitment, processing and communication. Log correspondence in Salesforce. Ensure FERPA compliance on all communication regarding student information. OIT support: In office point of contact for OIT needs.Essential 30Campus tour support and walk-in admissions support. Ready and available for walk-in and scheduled campus tours Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Primary back-up for campus tours for admissions recruitment staffEssential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


• Knowledge of customer service best practices and procedures.

• Ability to prepare various correspondence and effectively provide verbal and written communication to prospective students, community members, staff, faculty and administrators.

• Analytical research and problem solving skills.


Typical Experience: One-two years' experience providing professional level customer service is required for this position. Experience should have prepared candidates to provide excellent customer service, make sound judgment calls, analyze and solve problems, and deal with large volumes of inquiries. Required Education or Training:

One year of education at a university or community college.

Salary Information:

This is a temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on the, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
