Salary: $24.50 /Hour + DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday and some Saturdays 

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY
This is an outside sales position focused on business banking relationships with goals to retain and deepen existing relationships while acquiring new customers.  Takes a lead role in mentoring new Personal Bankers and other branch staff; creates and provides an outstanding customer experience; helps the branch reach sales objectives; and, contributes to the bank’s success by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Establishes new business and expands existing banking relationships by making sales calls in person and by phone to current and prospective business customers with an additional goal to acquire the personal relationships of the owners and principals of those businesses. Tracks customer calls, sales activities, and trends from various sources, and develops and recommends sales strategies; implements approved strategies.
  2. Interviews existing and potential customers, analyzes their financial needs, and recommends appropriate bank products and services.  Cross sells and makes productive referrals to other areas of the bank.
  3. Educates prospective and current customers on recommended products and services.  Creates a sense of urgency and overcomes objections to positively affect the customer’s thoughts and actions to close the sale.
  4. Opens new accounts and responds to customer account related requests; may close accounts and conduct customer initiated account research and resolution.
  5. Implements an effective customer onboarding process for new customers.  Creates a memorable customer experience including customer feedback, ongoing communication, education, and appreciation.
  6. May act as a Relationship Manager to high value retail clients.
  7. Acts as a liaison between customers and other areas of the bank. Maintains awareness of existing and newly developed bank products and services in order to make appropriate recommendations to customers.
  8. Initiates and processes customer contracts for bank products and services and answers customers' questions regarding the contract and service or product.
  9. Interviews and evaluates customer needs to initiate consumer loan business, requests and receives applications and other required paperwork to send for underwriting, informs customer regarding approval or denial of loan, and may coordinate closings of loans they originated.
  10. Works collaboratively to promote focused and proactive lead generation.  Inspires trust and motivates other personal bankers by sharing knowledge and opportunities for learning.
  11. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a business related field plus one year demonstrated experience in a customer relationship-type position, or four years in a front line customer contact position with two of the years as experience in a customer relationship-type position; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Two years’ sales experience. One year banking or financial services experience. Preferred: Three years banking or financial services experience. Outside sales experience.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator required. Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required; database experience preferred.
