Position Summary

The Slot Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the slot operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of all slot machines and related gaming equipment within the casino. This role ensures that the slot operations run smoothly and efficiently, with minimal downtime. The Slot Technical Manager manages a team of slot ambassadors, coordinates with other departments, ensures compliance with gaming regulations, and works to optimize the overall performance of the slot floor. Will fulfill the responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and train a team of slot ambassadors to ensure all work is completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Provide ongoing training and support on troubleshooting procedures, new technology, and best practices.
  • Oversee and ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of slot machines, including mechanical, electrical and software components.
  • Manage the installation and setup of new slot machines, ensuring they are properly configured and meet the casino technical standards and gaming regulations.
  • Provide technical support to casino staff in troubleshooting issues related to slot machines, including jackpot malfunctions and machine communication errors.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and installation work completed on slot machines.
  • Prepare regular reports on machine performance, service activities, and equipment status for management.
  • Respond to urgent issues quickly to minimize impact on guests and casino operations.
  • Be capable of handling routine customer complaints and incidents and exhibits the appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of supervisory personnel.
  • Understand and comply with company and departmental directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure high quality service to all customers.
  •  Maintain composure and professionalism in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Oversee general cleaning duties of the casino as assigned to include preopening, closing and general maintenance throughout the operating hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in a technical role involving slot machines or gaming equipment with strong knowledge of slot machine components, mechanics, and electronics.
  • 2-years in a supervisory or management capacity preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from guests.
  • Ability to deal with inebriated customers in a courteous manner.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.

  • Successful Licensing with Eklutna Tribal Gaming Commission

Machinery, Work Equipment, Programs, Software, Hardware Used

  • Personal Computer including Microsoft Office and IGT Falcon software
  •  Document scanner and printer
  •  Various hardware/software used in the slot machine environment
