Camp Fire Alaska aims to help youth develop social, emotional, physical, and academic skills that will help them see and reach their full potential. We do that by facilitating hands-on, educational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, structured play and more, all in a safely organized before and after school program setting. Come join our team and work in our Before and After School Program in elementary schools in Anchorage and Eagle River. Programs run from 7-9am and again from 3:30-6pm, Monday through Friday. When school is not in session, we operate day camps and full or half day programs during the school year. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Site Director is responsible for overall planning, management and supervision of program activities, staff and youth at an assigned site. Main responsibilities of this position are to support program quality, coaching and supervision of staff at site and completing administration work to maintain all licensing standards. 

 

DETAILS:

  • Work Location: Assigned program site (elementary school) and from Camp Fire Alaska's main office
  • Reports To: Senior Site Director 
  • Supervises: Program Staff and Program Aids
  • Work Status: Non-exempt, part-time, average 25-30 hours/week  

 

QUALIFICATONS

  • Minimum age twenty-one (21) years of age OR professional experience directly related to licensed or accredited school age or camp programs to substitute
  • Minimum: one (1) year experience working with youth (preferably school-age children) in a group and semi-structured setting required
  • Minimum: six (6) months prior experience in staff supervision and management
  • Ability to transport all program materials and supplies to site required; ability to visit all program sites as needed; valid driver’s license and access to personal car preferred

 

REQUIREMENTS (can be acquired after hire with agreed upon schedule): Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid; Food Worker Card; Mandated Reporter training certificate; Health & Safety certificate.
