General Functions:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Parent Resource Supervisor will work with Alaska Native/American Indian (AN/AI) students and parents in various settings, both in and out of the classroom. The position is responsible for assisting with recruitment, supervision, and training the parent educators in the program, be a liaison between the school and CITC, and assist participants as needed. The Parent Resource Supervisor will lead the program at the school level, as well as train parent educators in instructional strategies, academic intervention techniques, and coordinate training opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard Parent Educator Staff to build a qualified education support team.
- Provide ongoing leadership, motivation, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure staff effectiveness and professional growth.
- Guide staff in implementing evidence-based, culturally responsive, and social-emotional teaching methods aligned with Alaska State Standards (K-3).
- Assess site-specific literacy needs using data analysis and staff input to develop targeted intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and parent educator staff to tailor culturally appropriate interventions for individual participant needs.
- Observe staff instruction regularly and provide strengths-based feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
- Monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Program Manager and ensure adherence to grant requirements.
- Coordinate supply material delivery and logistics for partner school sites to ensure resource availability.
- Build positive relationships with families to promote student learning and encourage involvement in each child's educational development.
- Assist with data collection, narrative reporting, and documentation to meet grant compliance requirements.
- Maintain open communication with school leadership, counselors, and CITC partners to ensure program alignment and effectiveness.
- Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for reading support staff.
- Represent CITC at community and state events, promoting awareness and partnership opportunities.
- Foster a safe, trusting, and inclusive environment for students and staff across all program sites.
- Perform all related duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Continued employment is contingent upon completion of satisfactory state and federal fingerprint criminal background check.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible program leadership or supervisory experience.
- Two (2) years of experience working with youth in educational or developmental settings, or in program management.
- Two (2) years of experience working with Alaska Native or American Indian families with knowledge of their values and belief systems.
- Knowledge of Anchorage School District policies and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or related field.
- Alaska Teaching Credential or Alaska Educator certificate.
- Experience in community partnership development, stakeholder engagement, or working with the Anchorage School District in educational programming.

- May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and consistently working on a computer with repetitive motion.
- The need to occasionally move around the office to access filing cabinets, storage cabinets, and office equipment may be necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner.
