As a Term Instructor of Finance in the College of Business & Public Policy, you will teach courses such as Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Intermediate Financial Management, Financial Derivatives, International Finance, and the Student Managed Portfolio. In addition, you will provide mentorship to undergraduate students and serve on university committees.

 

The Term Finance Instructor is a full-time, 9-month, term-funded, non-tenure track position in the Accounting & Finance Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage. This role includes responsibilities in (1) teaching and (2) providing professional service to the university, the profession/discipline, and the community. The typical teaching load is four courses per semester, beginning in August 2026.

• Demonstrated or potential for successful teaching on topics of finance, etc.

 

• Strong technical skills and ability to effectively deliver distance education.

 

• Connections to the finance industry.

 

• Ability to represent the department in the university/community.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Graduate degree in Finance or a related field (e.g., Economics) at the time of initial appointment.

 

• All terminal and master's business degrees must be from AACSB accredited institutions or from a program accredited by an association comparable to AACSB.

 

• Qualified to teach quantitative finance, derivatives, corporate finance, investments, and international finance.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Ph.D. in Finance, or closely related discipline, preferred.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. Applicants must be able to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska by the position start date. This is a full-time, 9-month, term-funded, non-tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, faculty time off (FTO), 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. Faculty salaries are based on a variety of factors, including education and experience. The approved salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually (9-month term).
