SUMMARY

Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is actively seeking to fill our Will-Call Sales position. As a Will-Call Counter Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling customer inquiries, and efficiently fulfilling orders at our will-call counter. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong organizational skills, and are eager to learn. The successful candidate will assist with order processing, maintain accurate inventory records, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere. No prior experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a customer-centric mindset and a willingness to be trained. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process Point Of Sale (POS) transactions
• Process Total Warehouse Logistics (TWL) transactions
• Assure proper service and care is given to every customer
• Pull and prepare customer orders quickly and accurately
• Box and stage orders in a designated area for customer pick up
• Promptly and professionally answer the phone
• Complete daily assignments at the direction of the store management team

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic computer skills
• Basic knowledge of products sold
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
• Basic knowledge of UOMs, Shipping, and Transfer Units
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be self-motivated, being able to complete tasks during unsupervised periods

Preferred

• Background in the construction or mechanics trade
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, or similar role

• Frequent pulling and stocking inventory items onto carts, or with material handling equipment.
• Frequent pulling and stocking inventory items from roll-a-stairs and ladders
• Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs while carrying objects
• Assist and upkeep of facilities including but not limited to snow removal, dusting, sweeping, and mopping as needed
