GRANTS PROGRAM MANAGER

Reports to: Senior Director of Public Policy and Lands 
Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt
Location: Anchorage, AK

JOB SUMMARY: The Grants Program Manager is responsible for researching, identifying and writing grant applications designed to benefit Aleut Shareholders and Descendants. This role will support all aspects of grants management, including budget, logistics planning, contracts, researching, writing, and managing grants to support Aleut’s goals and objectives. This role will proactively administer grant implementation, performance, and compliance through productive collaborations with respective team members across the organization by convening post-award implementation planning, periodic check-up reviews, continuation application and close-out meetings.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embrace the mission, values, and strategic goals of The Aleut Corporation (Aleut).
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring alignment with Aleut’s strategic goals.
  • Manage the lifecycle of awarded grants, including compliance, budget tracking, reporting, and maintaining grant documentation.
  • Coordinate with program staff to monitor grant-funded programs, ensuring that deliverables and outcomes are met.
  • Serve as a liaison with grantors, maintaining relationships and facilitating communication as needed.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to grant funders as required.
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to assess operational needs and optimize efficiency.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration by sharing critical information in a timely manner, facilitating constructive and problem-solving discussions. 
  • Monitor and manage vendor relationships and contracts related to operational functions.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations related to grants. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all grants, operational activities, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare reports on operational performance and grant status for leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing, proper grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft applications (i.e., excel, word, power point, etc.)
  • Skill in establishing relationships like working with corporate management, managers, co-workers, and outside contacts. 
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing information. 
  • Possess strong analytical skills to review, evaluate, and synthesize information.
  • High level of organizational skills, as well as time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and tact in dealing with sensitive information. 
  • Problem solving and demonstrating initiative to improve process, procedures, etc. 
  • Possess and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, respect, flexibility, and sound work ethics.
  • Proven experience in grants, program development, management, and evaluation
  • Uses knowledge of grants and funding to facilitate meaningful improvement to services,programs, processes, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
  2. Five (5) years’ experience working in and/or managing a Grant program or related work.
