Seasonal Environmental Technician
Native Village of Eklutna
The Native Village of Eklutna is seeking an Environmental Technician to support the Land & Environment Department in meeting a wide range of departmental needs, including fisheries and watershed monitoring along the Eklutna River in Southcentral Alaska. The technician will also support the Food Security Department by assisting with garden maintenance, outreach activities, and community recycling events, among other projects.
The position includes a combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities. Field tasks may include salmon spawning surveys, minnow trapping, salmon genetic data collection, stream habitat assessments, water quality monitoring, and garden activities such as harvesting, planting, seeding, and weeding.
When not in the field, the technician will assist with data management, analysis, and other departmental projects as needed. Training will be provided for all technical and field-based tasks.
