Thompson & Co. Public Relations is looking for an Design Coordinator for its Anchorage office (in person, in office) OR remote position based in Oregon or Chicago, Illinois.

Job summary: We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join Thompson & Co.’s digital team. In this role, you will support the development of high-quality visual content across print and digital platforms, helping bring client and agency concepts to life. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to execute designs that align with brand standards, strategic goals, and client expectations. This is an ideal opportunity for an earlycareer designer eager to grow their skills in an agile and collaborative agency environment.

Design coordinators should have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent years of experience as freelancer if self-taught.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting agency’s creative team in graphic design projects.
  • Creating digital and print graphics for agency clients ranging from annual reports to social media graphics to digital ads to posters and more.
  • Working with all teams across the agency for any graphic design needs.
  • Follow project timelines to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of design.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance overall design quality.
  • Adapt existing designs and templates to fit specific project needs.
  • Preparing finished art and working with printer or distributor to finalize

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Required experience and strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Team player with attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • After Effects or other animation experience is a strong bonus but not required.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to grow and develop your skills.
  • High-level communication skills to interpret client and agency needs.
  • Understanding of marketing, production, corporate identity, and multi-media design.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Squarespace or Wordpress experience is a bonus but not required
