Accountabilities and Specific Requirements: Under general direction of the SERVS Manager, the Emergency Preparedness and Response Supervisor is accountable for the following:
- Leadership & direct supervision of multiple EP&R Operations areas (Duty Office, Lightering, Open Water, Wildlife, Maintenance, Facilities).
- Active Stewardship of LPS to deliver continuous improvement of overall safety at APSC.
- Ensuring a safe work area is provided, the environment is protected, EP&R equipment and work areas are controlled, and provide effective and sufficient communications to assure consistent delivery on operational discipline.
- Identify and endorse technology enhancements and support operating, maintenance and reliability improvements.
- Responsible for performance measure reporting, cost tracking, and resolving quality related issues.
- Must work to effectively integrate operations & maintenance and support the organization in the principles of proactive maintenance, while sustaining continuous improvement in safe work processes and environmental performance for APSC personnel, baseline, and other contractors working on the EP&R Operating Areas that are under the oversight of the Supervisor position.

This position requires candidates to work independently and perform successfully in a cross-team environment. The possession of excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to influence team performance through personal interaction is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of and commitment to core business management.
Typical work activities include:
- Provide leadership and supervision to hourly technical or exempt staff.
- Oversee and manage appropriately cost center budgets of up to $80M
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Campaigns to ensure efficient work practices and deliver overall system reliability
- Demonstrate and promote teamwork to ensure consistency and operational continuity
- Coach and develop team members
- Provide training and experiences to ensure a competent work force
- Actively participate in overseeing the day-to-day implementation of work activities
- Monitor and intervene as necessary to ensure open work environment behaviors are maintained both within and across work groups
- Challenge inefficient processes and identify opportunities for improved business effectiveness
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must meet or exceed these minimum job requirements to apply for this position.
- Bachelor's degree (equivalent work experience above the minimum may be considered as a substitute for all or part of the formal educational requirements)
- Five (5) years of related experience with operations and maintenance that includes supervisory responsibilities in an industrial or related facility.
- Knowledge and experience in emergency/spill response operations and the Incident Management System.
- Broad knowledge of maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures in operations and maintenance.
- Advanced experience with business processes and systems within discipline area.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to staff and to managers.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERENCES:
- Four-year degree in a technical field.
- Supervisory, leadership, or work facilitation experience with technical or staff personnel at a TAPS Facility
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety programs/initiatives
- Experience in LPS stewardship and use of LPS Tools
- TAPS operations, maintenance, or response experience
- General work management, planning, scheduling and data reporting experience
- Experience providing technical guidance to staff and other supervisors
- Technical Verbal and Writing ability (Procedure, SMP, SOP, Energy isolation, and site-specific safety plans)
- Experience with regulator interactions and reporting.
