We’re Cook Inlet Housing Authority – we develop, own, and operate a portfolio of affordable rental housing in the Cook Inlet region of southcentral Alaska. What You’ll Be Doing: 

Leadership & Staff Development 

  • Support in the supervision and mentorship of the Housing Services team 
  •  Support recruitment efforts and provide hiring recommendations 
  • Co-design and deliver training programs and onboarding sessions to support strong employee satisfaction and retention 

Operational Support 

  • Provide coverage and support for Department Manager and Supervisors 
  • Maintain and update training materials and departmental procedures 
  • Collaborate with Leadership on developing and executing departmental goals 

Compliance & Program Oversight 

  • Ensure compliance with federal and other funder regulations, and internal organizational policies 
  • Review resident files and monitor program progress 
  • Track and support compliance requirement work  

Internal & External Relations 

  • Foster partnerships with community organizations to grow referral pipeline 
  • Promote strong internal communication and collaboration with other departments 
  • Represent CIHA at outreach events 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

We’re looking for a confident, collaborative leader who is passionate about team development. You should be highly organized, adaptable, and ready to take initiative. 

You’ll need: 

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills 
  • Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring staff 
  • Analytical thinker with a focus on continuous improvement 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in compliance standards and administrative systems 

The Basics 

  • 4+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in housing or eligibility programs 
  • 2+ years of experience in training or staff development 
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • Preferred: Housing certifications (e.g., Certified Occupancy Specialist, Tax Credit Specialist) 
  • Preferred: Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, NAHASDA, or HUD programs 
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
