In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate closely with researchers and staff, ensuring adherence to procurement and travel guidelines. Reporting directly to the INBRE Fiscal Officer, you'll also liaise with EPSCoR and the Institute of Arctic Biology Business Office. In this role you will be a new addtion to the administrative core support and coordination of programs within the AK INBRE network, and supporting its annual research retreats and summits, oversight and advisory committees, tracking, reporting and outreach, and internal and external evaluation. AK INBRE 4 activities will facilitate the overall coordination and sharing of resources among all IDeA and other NIH and University of Alaska programs with similar goals of enhancing capacity for biomedical research and growing and diversifying the pipeline of students seeking careers in biomedical research and health in Alaska. The Fiscal Technician will coordinate a broad spectrum of procurement and financial operations within the organization, aimed at ensuring efficient, compliant, and effective handling of purchases, invoice processing, and financial documentation. This role encompasses the comprehensive funtion of the procurement process, from the initial review of purchase requests for completeness and accuracy to tracking the delivery and approval of goods and services. The role will also work on coordination for travel and event planning and logistics. The position demands meticulous attention to detail in routing purchase requests through appropriate approval processes, conducting both formal and informal solicitations, and maintaining precise purchasing records in accordance with compliance standards.

A solid understanding of fiscal and purchasing policies, coupled with intermediate fiscal skills and analytical abilities, will be essential for success. Minimum Qualifications:
One year of college coursework in Accounting or related field and two years of mid-level accounting experience or equivalent experience. 4 or more years of high level customer service experience.
Experience within a University setting is preferred.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a part-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
