General functions
In alignment with CIRI’s mission and values, develops engaging, on-brand print and digital communication materials to communicate and promote CIRI and CIRI subsidiaries’ image(s), programs, products, services and business interests.
Designs logos, brochures, signs, advertisements, annual reports, web-oriented marketing materials and other digital communications.
Major activities (typical duties/responsibilities)
- Produce visual content—including logos, layouts and illustrations—for CIRI communications with shareholders, employees and the public:
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements;
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas; and
- Work with the Corporate Affairs team, outside agencies and/or independent consultants to finalize and produce design.
- Develop promotional items for CIRI and CIRI subsidiaries’ internal and external events, including tradeshows, information meetings, annual shareholder meeting, cultural events, etc.
- Develop and maintain corporate templates, standards and branding.
- In conjunction with the Corporate Affairs and IT departments, develop and maintain web-oriented marketing materials, including the CIRI website.
- Utilize creative and software skills to design, develop, build and improve webpages with user experience in mind.
- Development and implementation of social media strategies and content across all social media platforms.
- Strategic management and development of content for CIRI’s internal communications, including intranet and BrightSign television monitors.
- In coordination with the Manager, Corporate Services, develop marketing collateral for the Fireweed Business Center conference facilities.
- Assist in the coordination of and provide direction to freelancers, outside agencies and/or independent consultants.
- Help manage CIRI’s photography and audio/visual needs.
- Assist in the publication, broadcast or otherwise help present CIRI-related information.
- Attend CIRI-related events, as requested.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
Skills/abilities
- Understand CIRI’s mission, values and strategic focus areas and incorporate knowledge into daily activities.
- Superior visual communication and graphic-design skills; ability to create or incorporate graphics or illustrations to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.
- Expert-level knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office products and WordPress CMS. Experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the internet, social media and other digital communications media.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills with the ability to think strategically.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees and outside business associates. Exhibits a professional manner at all times.
- Work independently as well as on a team; requires minimal supervision.
- Superior organizational and follow-up skills; detail oriented.

- Works well under pressure and independently prioritizes workload.
- Photography, audio/visual, and video and sound editing skills a plus
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to walk and/or stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to kneel, crawl, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder height with regular frequency.
- Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to maintain balance on uneven surfaces and ladders, and to negotiate stairs on an occasional basis.
- Must possess sufficient fine and gross motor skills to operate computers and other equipment as required.
- Must possess sufficient gross motor skills to operate a vehicle (if required).
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
