Rodney P. Kinney Associates, Inc. (RPKA) is seeking a full-time, highly motivated Civil Design Engineer with 3-5 years of professional experience or an E.I.T. (engineer-in-training) with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience for our office in Eagle River, Alaska.  The qualified person joining our award winning and accomplished, multidisciplinary team will engage in challenging civil engineering projects, including civil design, site development and grading, transportation projects, utility design, production of construction drawings and specifications, and construction administration.

Qualified candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school;
• An Alaska PE, or ability to become registered within nine months of hire;
• 3-5 years of civil engineering design and other relevant experience or EIT 2 years;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Microsoft project a plus;
• Experience with Civil 3D and other engineering software;
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities with capacity to generate accurate work within a limited timeframe and budget;
• Excellent oral and written English skills for communicating with co-workers, clients, and contractors;
• Ability to be self-motivated, have strong data analysis and technical problem-solving skills, and work seamlessly in a collaborative teamwork setting;
• Ability to travel to remote areas for projects across Alaska by commercial airline, bush plane, helicopter, 4-wheeler, or boat.  Duration will vary according to task/job;
• Construction experience a plus, but not required;
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a good driving record.
