The position is based in Anchorage at the Worley Fabrication Facility, on a 5 day a week work schedule.  

Schedule subject to change pending the project(s) needs.   

No relocation or per-diem is provided.

Position Summary: 

Working under the supervision of the Fabrication Facility Superintendent and reporting to the Senior Material Coordinator, the Equipment / Loader Operator performs day-to-day tasks in support of fabrication facility operations. Responsibilities include material handling activities, loading and unloading trucks, receiving, moving and staging materials, maintaining yard organization, snow removal, and conducting inspections and basic care of assigned equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and teamwork. 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Operate front-end loader and forklift in support of Fab Shop and yard operations.

  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, equipment, and fabricated components safely and efficiently.

  • Perform daily pre-use inspections and maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and working condition.

  • Routinely perform safety observations.

  • Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.

  • Adhere to all Worley health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate support for the company’s HSE management system.

  • Ensure all team members understand and follow safe work practices when working around facilities and equipment.

  • Be accountable for safe work practices.

  • Communicate regularly with supervisor and team members to assess current and future job requirements.

  • Willing to learn and develop skills in other craft areas to improve the crew’s performance.

  • Other duties as assigned. The position is required to assist other crafts as able when not operating equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to safely operate front-end loaders with bucket and fork attachments, telehandler (zoom boom), and warehouse forklifts.

  • Working knowledge of rigging practices and safe material handling procedures.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow work directions.

  • Ability to learn various Worley, client, safety, operational procedures, demonstrating required competencies.

  • Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, including receiving and relaying work instructions, task assignments, and oral safety warnings.

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices, equipment operation, and industrial work environments.

  • Familiarity with work planning, material movement, and yard organization.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work assignments in a dynamic fabrication environment.

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in harsh winter conditions and environments i.e., snow removal to expose buried materials prior to lifting.

Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, extreme cold or heat and high noise levels. Employee will work in an environment where there is risk that they will be exposed to toxic, caustic and/or hazardous chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles. Workers are required to wear personal protective equipment while on the job. The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying items. An individual will be required to work most hours in an industrial environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:   

  • One (1) year of experience with a front-end loader, telehandler (zoom boom), or similar heavy equipment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurer.
