The Director of Organizational Strategy & Initiatives serves as a key strategic partner to the President of the University of Alaska Foundation, providing enterprise-wide coordination, facilitation, and project leadership in support of the UA Foundation's strategic priorities. This role serves as the convener and facilitator for cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment, momentum, and clarity across complex initiatives spanning multiple departments and functions.

 

This position operates with a high degree of independence and institutional influence, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives that require senior-level judgment, discretion, and coordination.

 

The successful candidate will bring high emotional intelligence and the diplomacy skills necessary to resolve conflicts and negotiate competing priorities across departments where no direct authority exists.

 

As a member of the UA Foundation's senior staff, the Director of Strategic Initiatives plays a central role in translating strategy into action, supporting institutional planning, sequencing work across the organization, and advancing special projects on behalf of the President. The role operates with broad influence and high visibility across the UA Foundation.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in project management, organizational strategy, operations, administration, change management, or cross-functional leadership.

 

Position Details:

 

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 82, based on education and experience.
