Come work as a Contract Commercial Driving Instructor for Western Alaska’s only State Certified and PTDI Certified Driving School! The Yuut Driving Academy is looking for a fun, outgoing individual to teach Drivers Education in beautiful Bethel, Alaska. Sessions are two weeks long; room and board included.

NOTE: The job requires many hours in a vehicle with inexperienced drivers. Patience and good communication skills are an absolute must.

Salary: $4,000 per 2-week session. Room and board included

Responsibilities:

*Teach up to 4 two-week sessions of Class B Commercial Driving utilizing PTDI-certified curriculum

*Reports to the Director of Programs

*Instruct Class B Commercial Driving

*Ensure that the organization is meeting all of the requirements of the Professional Truck Driving Institute (PTDI)

*Teach and manage students, and maintain and enter Student Records

*Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

*At least 25 years of age (insurance requirement)

*A minimum of five years Commercial Driving experience

*Computer literacy and the ability to enter data and complete reporting

*Must be able to work and communicate with other members of the team

*Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to safety, including COVID vaccination requirement for all Yuut instructors

*Must have a HS diploma or GED

*Must pass pre-employment drug screening

*Must have held a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s license for a minimum of five years

*Must have clean driving record and be able to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

*Teaching/Instructing experience
