The University of Alaska is looking for a Program Coordinator for Graduate Medical Education (GME) to help support efforts to expand physician residency training opportunities across Alaska. This position plays an important role in coordinating the work of the Alaska GME Council and collaborating with healthcare organizations, educators, physicians, and community partners throughout the state.

The Program Coordinator provides operational leadership for implementation of Alaska GME Council activities. The position coordinates statewide meetings, rural site readiness assessments, technical assistance, training activities, communications, and partnership development while supporting implementation of strategies to expand residency training opportunities across Alaska.

The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating complex programs or projects, including managing timelines, meetings, events, project partner communications, and multiple competing priorities. Experience working with healthcare organizations, rural communities, workforce development, education or training programs, and project data or grant reporting would be highly valuable.

Preferred qualifications include an understanding of healthcare workforce initiatives and graduate medical education, as well as experience working with rural healthcare organizations. Familiarity with project management software and the ability to use technology to organize, track, and coordinate projects are also preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to public health, healthcare administration, education, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
