Wage: $19.00/hour (8 hours straight pay / 4 hours overtime)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge upon hire
- Must be able to pass an initial background check (public records)
- Able to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English
- Possess or be able to attain State of Alaska Unarmed Security Guard license before starting work
- Reliable access to a smartphone capable of running apps for scheduling, timekeeping (clocking in/out), shift communications, and time-off requests.
- Must be able to pass the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, criminal background investigation and post-offer physical/functional capacity evaluation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred, but not required, one (1) year of work experience with a municipal, state, or federal law enforcement agency, military police unit, corrections activity, or private security company within the past five years.
- Fluent in a second language
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Working in a team environment, performing roving foot patrols to ensure the safe maneuvering of pedestrians and vehicles on the departure and arrival curbsides during times of heavy traffic congestion.
- Assisting drivers with information on areas to park, wait, accessing airport services, and help with locating their party.
- Reporting all questionable activity to the supervisor and local law enforcement.
- Visually, electronically and/or audibly monitors a variety of assigned areas, or grounds by working in a variety of assignments which may include, but are not limited to roving inside the facilities, roving in a vehicle, stationary checkpoints, and other locations deemed appropriate
- Examines and verifies personnel credentials and vehicle placarding to ensure that access is authorized
- Ensures own actions and those of others observe maximum level of safety and compliance
- Verbally de-escalates situations to ensure the safety of fellow employees, customers and clients
- Examines doors, windows, and other areas of the facility to determine they are secure
- Reports and records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, etc.in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators
- Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety, active shooter protocol
- Notifies on site individuals of visitors wishing to see them
- May perform routine input or monitoring of safety and life support computer programs
- May issue and record ID badges
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
