The University of Alaska Anchorage is accepting applications for an Accounts Receivable Technician within the Office of the Bursar. The Office of the Bursar oversees all university receipts and provides responsive, student‑centered financial services. This temporary role-expected to last up to six months-supports daily cashiering operations by posting student account payments, processing departmental deposits, and assisting with campus ID card issuance. The Accounts Receivable Technician also contributes to frontline customer service through our call center, in-person service windows, and departmental email accounts.

The successful candidate will bring general accounting knowledge and experience using standard office programs such as Excel, Word, email platforms, and databases. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external partners in a student-facing financial services environment. A solutions‑focused approach, attention to detail, and the ability to learn university systems quickly will support success in this role. Experience handling cash in a professional capacity is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of college coursework in Accounting or related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Anchorage campus; on-site work is required. This is a full-time, non-exempt, temporary staff position working 40 hours per week for up to 6 months. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. New hires will be placed on the https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/compensation/salary.php, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
