The Armed Security Officer is responsible for protecting people, property, and company assets by maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This position performs routine patrols, monitors site activity, controls access, responds to security and emergency situations, and documents incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures. Security Officers are expected to maintain a professional presence, exercise sound judgment, and provide courteous and effective service while carrying out assigned security responsibilities.

This position works a 2 week on / 2 week off rotational schedule in Glennallen, AK. 12-hour work shifts. Housing in Glennallen is not provided. Officers go to their own place of residence at the end of the shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an officer (or above) with a municipal, state or federal law enforcement agency, military police unit, corrections or private security company within the past five years. *Experience within the past five years may be waived based on performance testing indicating that the applicant is capable of performing essential security functions.
  • Armed Security Guard License (State of Alaska) or ability to obtain.
  • Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Must be able to pass the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, criminal background investigation and post-offer physical/functional capacity evaluation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Execute post orders and enforce company/client policies while maintaining professional, courteous, and respectful interactions with the public.

  • Protect people, property, and assets by preventing theft, damage, fire, unauthorized access, and other security risks.

  • Conduct patrols, surveillance, searches, and investigations; identify suspicious activity, assess risk, and take appropriate action, including arrest when required.

  • Respond effectively to emergencies, accidents, and disasters, including performing rescue functions and fire suppression using appropriate equipment.

  • Safely operate vehicles, communication systems, and security equipment, including radios, fire extinguishers, and agency-issued firearms.

  • Accurately document incidents, investigations, and daily activities; communicate clearly and coherently via radio and written reports.

  • Maintain composure, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a high level of alertness while working varied schedules, locations, and environmental conditions.
