The University of Alaska Anchorage Copy & Print Center is recruiting for the position of Document Services Supervisor. The Copy & Print Center is part of UAA General Support Services (a unit within Facilities & Campus Services). The Supervisor oversees the direct operational management of the UAA Copy & Print Center and reports directly to the General Support Services Director. Responsibilities include coordination and oversight of day to day production, customer service and graphic design operations, supervision of staff (recruitment, schedule management, timesheet approvals, training, performance management/coaching/disciplinary actions), analysis of work processes, quality control, budget management, report preparation, maintenance of work management software, working directly with vendors and customers, and ensuring a safe work environment is maintained. The Document Services Supervisor is expected to support and assist the team related to production and customer service/front desk responsibilities as needed and must be familiar with all aspects of the operation.

 

Individuals with a strong work ethic, positive, team-oriented approach and customer- focused demeanor will thrive in this role. The successful candidate will be highly dependable, understand print shop sales operations and budget maintenance, demonstrate strong attention to detail and have excellent problem solving skills. They will possess the ability to think creatively while also appropriately interpreting and adhering to policies and procedures. It is vital that the individual has strong professional interpersonal communication skills and can perform well as a member of a diverse team of individuals, demonstrating positive and effective leadership.

 

Advanced knowledge of the copy and print industry related to standard business practices and workflow management as well as strong technical knowledge of industry equipment and related computer hardware and software will be essential. Also, advanced skills and experience related to design for print including related software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Minimum three years professional experience in the print industry. Bachelor's degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

An unrestricted Alaska driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
