The Geophysical Institute is looking for a CNC Machinist to join our research-focused Machine Shop, using CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, 3D printers, and other equipment to fabricate, construct, and complete projects. As our CNC Machinist, you will play an important role in designing and fabricating equipment used by UAF researchers worldwide. This position is represented by Local 6070.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and 3D Modeling/Drafting certification. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria are required.
Position Details:
This position is full-time, Alaska Higher Education Crafts and Trades, Local 6070 represented Crafts & Trades 3 (CT3), term-funded, non-exempt, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/ UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. Salary Information: CT3 /Step 1 32.51/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, https://www.alaska.edu/hr/labor/labor-relations/local-6070.php#collapse3d13e356).
This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
