The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) School of Social Work is growing! We are recruiting one full time tenure-track Assistant Professor for the BSW and MSW programs. This position is responsible for advancing research, teaching, and service in addressing elevated social issues in the State of Alaska.

 

As a tenure-track faculty in the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) School of Social Work, you will have the opportunity to teach an array of courses in both the BSW and MSW programs. These programs are invaluable in addressing the complex health and social needs of Alaska. Our educators assist in fulfilling our school's mission of engaging in decolonizing and anti-oppressive teaching and research while focusing on community engagement and a commitment to social justice. You will work independently and collaboratively with colleagues to produce high-quality research and dissemination that benefits Alaskans, the circumpolar North, and beyond

 

To thrive in this role, candidates must have experience working with diverse students, supporting student progression, and assisting students in achieving academic and professional success. Additionally, it is essential that faculty can meld an individual research program with practicing ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed instruction while creating impactful external relationships to meet the needs of our students, communities, and state. Individuals who are self-motivated, student-centered, and believe in excellence through teaching, research, service, collaboration, adaptability, and creativity will flourish within UAA's School of Social Work.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program and an earned Ph.D. in social work or a related field or DSW.

 

Position Details:

 

This is a represented, full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
