The Operations Specialist and Executive Assistant will work as part of the operations team within the Alaska Business Unit of The Nature Conservancy providing a broad range of operational resources. This position will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. They will manage the coordination and execution of tasks related to the chapters operational support, procurement, meetings and project management, trainings, and volunteer programs. They will provide direct administrative support for the Alaska State Director as well as other member of the Alaska Leadership Team. They will lead the day-to-day management of Human Resources, especially recruitment, training, and recognition.
The Operations Specialist and Executive Assistant will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans, and completing and organizing multiple tasks and activities. They will maintain, track, and report on key data related to the scope and priorities of the functional activity. The Specialist must have advanced knowledge of the systems and resources utilized by the team in order to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources. They will complete activities with multiple variables, set realistic deadlines and manage the timeline. They will provide guidance in satisfying requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures. They will adapt processes and implement recommended practices in order to improve effectiveness. The Specialist will take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, including, but not limited to, developing documentation, providing recommendations and targeted training related to the functional area of the team, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. They will coordinate logistics for organizational wide meetings and/or special events. They will create program materials and perform analysis and research related to program activities. They will coordinate with stakeholders for program success and may serve as the lead liaison with partners or vendors. The Specialist will communicate with staff in various programs across the Conservancy, as well as with donors, volunteers, vendors, and business relations. They will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices in order to improve services. The Specialist will be responsible for a variety of support for the Alaska State Director as well as other members of the Alaska Leadership Team, which include domestic and international travel arrangements, calendar management, drafting correspondence, processing expenses, and scheduling and coordinating logistics of meetings and special events. They will effectively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $70,000-$72,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
