Position Summary:

As Executive Director of ANSEP, you will lead all aspects of this exciting and impactful program serving Alaska Native and Rural Alaskan youth with educational programs and supports to ensure that every student can succeed. ANSEP provides school-year and summer programs for Elementary, Middle School, High School, Collegiate, and Graduate level students. The Executive Director oversees all aspects of the programs including locations in Anchorage, Wasilla, Bethel, and Kotzebue. The Executive Director is a member of the Provost's Council of Deans and Directors, and in that capacity, helps to advance the mission and vision of the University of Alaska Anchorage and of ANSEP in a collaborative, equitable, and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.

 

Reporting to the UAA Provost, the Executive Director is responsible for the effective administration of all academic and administrative matters at ANSEP including but not limited to organization, planning, personnel, budget, student support services, research, space and equipment. As a member of the University's management team, you will participate in setting direction and advocating for the ANSEP program, promoting the programs as an active participant as a principal contributor in the quality of life in the community.

 

Preferred Experience &/or Education:

 

Terminal degree from an accredited institution, 5 or more years of experience in post-secondary education as faculty or academic administrator; experience working with Alaska Native and/or Rural Alaskan populations. Must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

 

Required Experience &/or Education:

 

Advanced degree from an accredited institution, 3 or more years of experience in educational programs and service delivery; experience working with Indigenous populations. Eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located at the University campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php. Salary is commensurate based on education and experience.
