Position Summary:

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a dedicated professional for a Transfer Credit Evaluator role, responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and posting transfer credits at UAF. The position involves researching accreditation statuses, grading systems, and course levels for transcripts from various sources, including international credentials. The role encompasses communication with students, faculty, and staff to address inquiries related to transfer credit evaluation processes. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to process improvement initiatives, collaborating with the Transfer Credit Team and other Admissions departments. Systems testing, maintenance, and involvement in projects related to administrative software programs are integral aspects of the position. Ensuring confidentiality and maintaining records in compliance with FERPA, the candidate will play a crucial role in updating and enhancing UAF's transfer credit policies and procedures.

 

Transfer Credit Evaluators are responsible for reviewing and evaluating credit from other institutions as students transfer to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. They conduct research on accreditation status, grading systems, and calendar systems for schools we receive transcripts from. They also help support overall transfer recruitment and retention efforts by evaluating catalogs from our partner schools.

 

The ideal candidate will have two or more years of hands-on experience in postsecondary education student services or a comparable setting. Additionally, they will have demonstrated expertise in problem analysis and resolution, multitasking capabilities, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Candidates should be proficient in computer operations and data entry. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced work environments and adjusts to evolving policies and procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Associate degree and two or more years of relevant experience in a postsecondary education student services or customer service environment, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Position Details:

 

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
