Worley


This is a remote/ rotational position, working three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

 

The General Maintenance Tech/ Equipment Operator performs duties including various manual, skilled, and/or un-skilled tasks as required for front-end loader operation, boom truck operation, knuckle-boom operation, operation of a semi tractor, mechanical piping installation/removal, structural installation, pipe lifting, scaffolding, rigging, in accordance with all client and Worley safety, environmental and operational practices, policies and procedures.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Install/remove pig launchers and receivers with all associated valves and spools

  • Perform isolations per ICC's to isolate launchers and receivers to load and unload pigs

  • Assist client operators in loading, launching, tracking and unloading pigs

  • Wash and rebuild pigs and perform various shop tasks

  • Perform pigging spool/valve installation and removal, rigging, blinding and minor pipe fitting

  • Perform manual labor including operation small hand tools and power tools (buffer/grinders, reciprocating saws drills shovels, etc.) and carrying and lifting materials (cribbing, shoveling snow and other activities)

  • Perform heavy labor

  • Assist building scaffold with qualified scaffold builder

  • Performs manual labor supporting scaffolding activity, such as cleanup, hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, stack pipe skids, moving supports, handling steel materials and valves

  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policy and procedures for performed, including proper hazard recognition and migration of tasks and accept accountability for safe work practices

  • Demonstrate support for the company's environment management system

  • Ability to work as part of team and follow work direction

  • Participate in TRA, pre-job walk down and tool box meetings prior to start of work

  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field and vehicle inspections transporting pig launchers to and from the job site with a semi tractor trailer

  • Providing front-end loader support to the crew for snow removal and mobilizing materials

  • Utilizing boom truck to swing launchers and receivers into position in accordance with the lift plan

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Basic knowledge of pigging operations

  • Ability to read, understand and follow energy isolation drawings

  • General knowledge of structural and mechanical piping maintenance operations

  • General knowledge of rigging and bolt-up procedures

  • Ability to help with pigging spool installation and removal

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited technical guidance

  • General mathematical knowledge

  • Depending on assignment, may be required to prepare and process various types of documentation including permits and risk assessment completion to identify task hazards

  • Must be self-motivated and work well with others

  • Ability to follow all policies and procedures and work in a safe and productive manner

  • Capable of learning various Worley and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies

  • Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate

  • Advanced knowledge of all the following: mechanical piping, structural, and scaffold disciplines including: bolt up, rigging, pipefitting/installation

  • Advanced ability to interpret mechanical drawing and P&ID

  • Ability to operate other vehicles as assigned (pickups, 12-foot flatbed trucks- F-550, 12 foot box van trucks-F550) and equipment (i.e. Man lifts) in all-season adverse weather or road conditions

  • Able to work in confined spaces and wear respirators

  • Basic hand power/tool knowledge

  • Ability to interpret work instructions

  • Provides work leadership to lower level GMT's

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer

  • NCCCO certification for Boom Truck or ability to obtain certification within 180 days of hire at cost to selected candidate

  • One (1) year experience operating a front-end loader

  • Equipment certification must be obtained within 180 days of start date (i.e. man lift, scissor)

  • Rigging certification must be obtained within 180 days of start date

  • IVES Front-End Loader Certification must be obtained within 180 days of start date

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.

  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Two (2) years’ experience working two or more of the following disciplines: rigging, bolt up, pipefitting installations, scaffolding and/or mechanical piping

  • Two (2) years’ experience operation of a front-end loader

  • One (1) year of energy isolation experience

  • One (1) year experience with scaffolding

  • Petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience

  • Prior North Slope Experience
