Under the guidance of the Membership Lead, the Membership Specialist develops, retains, and increases girl/adult membership in Alaska; recruits and provides ongoing support to volunteers; assists in developing and implementing plans for membership growth expansion in all markets; represents and extends Girl Scouting in the community through presentations, collaborative efforts, local marketing, and networking; and ensures the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is accessible within assigned area.  Position involves travel on a regular basis throughout the Girl Scouts of Alaska region based on organizational needs.

You Have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience successfully recruiting and retaining volunteers.
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with volunteers, parents, staff, girls and families.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • The ability to organize and carry out a multifaceted workload.
  • The understanding of and commitment to organizational diversity.
  • Access to automobile in working condition. Proof of meeting state requirements regarding auto licensing, driver’s license, and liability insurance.
  • A clean background with the ability to complete a satisfactory background check.
