Maintenance Technician


The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance on all the systems supporting the Yuut Elitnaurviat campus. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Executive Director.

Salary: $28.00/hr-$38.00/hr, DOE

Responsibilities:

* Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
* Carry out daily inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
* Check Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing systems to ensure functionality daily
* Plan-perform-schedule all repair and installation activities
* Prioritize workload

* Assist specialty maintenance and utility workers as needed
* Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
* Monitor expenses and report the budget for maintenance
* Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
* Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
* Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
* Perform vehicle scheduled maintenance as required
* Perform minor site work and snow removal as needed
* Maintain all egress exits as required
* Proven experience as a maintenance technician or other maintenance role
* Experience in planning and performing maintenance operations
* Solid understanding of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical systems, etc.
* Working knowledge of maintenance equipment, vehicles, and various machinery
* Ability to keep track of and report on maintenance activities
* Performs other duties as assigned or required

 

Required Qualifications

* Excellent communication, computer and interpersonal skills
* Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
* Certificate or Degree will be an advantage
* Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
* 5 years maintenance experience required
 

Preferred Qualifications:

* Yup’ik speaker preferred

* Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) is preferred
* Licensed Plumber, Electrician, or HVAC Technician is preferred
