The UAF Environmental Community Partnership will provide developmental planning and environmental services to Fort Wainwright in accordance with the recently signed Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA). The Environmental Coordinator is a dedicated full-time professional ensuring compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and will collaborate across all areas of environmental services within the ECP. This person will assist in the development of plans and tasks to ensure compliance in support of Ft. Wainwright and support field work as needed.

The Environmental Community Partnership is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Coordinator to collaborate with the National Environmental Policy Act Program Manager on Fort Wainwright within the Environmental Division. The Coordinator will be instrumental in preparing and reviewing environmental documents, as well as ensuring compliance with NEPA related regulations.
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for collaborating efforts with project managers and contractors to support/produce larger-scale NEPA reviews such as Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

Communication/Administrative skills are important as daily collaboration/coordination across multiple entities is required. Understanding DoD structure/function and policy/procedures/regulations is key to success for an Environmental Coordinator as mission is driven by federal, state, local organizations and regulations. Looking for a person that is knowledgeable on NEPA, takes initiative, and has a passion to protect the environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor's degree in a biological sciences, fish and wildlife conservation/management, resource management or other related environmental field is preferred
Ability to access military installations in Alaska.
Possession of a valid driver's license.

Position Details:

This position is located on Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and https://www.alaska.edu/hr/benefits/support/prospectiveemployees.php.
