Inside Sales is a member of the Builders Choice Lumber commercial sales team and has the responsibility for facilitation of estimates and sales for customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read plans and specifications to identify the correct products to estimate\sell for the project.
  • Create and provide submittal packages for the materials provided.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, regarding products, pricing, and payments. 
  • Assist customers with product selection. 
  • Work with colleagues throughout the organization to ensure excellent customer experience from the inception of the order through delivery. 
  • Listen and respond empathetically when faced with customer concerns.  Seek quick resolution to issues raised.
  • Work hand-in-hand with management, by performing the administrative functions required to achieve the task at hand. 
  • Ensure timely quotations and accurate order processing. 
  • Follow up and update customers regarding bid status, order status, delivery status, etc.
  • Communicate clearly with customer regarding their expectations and how we intend to deliver on those expectations. 
  • Provide solutions through products, service, or information to add value to our customers.
  • Enter orders and credit memos into system accurately and efficiently
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • At least one (1) year of construction industry experience. 
  • At least one (1) year of sales or customer service experience. 
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products and other windows-based programs at a beginner level. 
  • Ability to meet safety requirements for the position. 
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 

 

Preferred

  • Forklift experience and certification.

The work environment is in a busy construction setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
